Fisheries in South seek new markets to offset GSP suspension

The president of Fisheries Association of Songkhla province, Suradej Nilubon, has said that the country’s fisheries industry will definitely be affected by the US suspension of the trade benefits for Thailand under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).

This suspension will affect the Thailand’s competitive advantage in the global economy, he noted. Some factories might consider moving their production bases from Thailand to other countries where they can enjoy GSP.
